“The body we inhabit is the most magical creation”... Liz Morris, Massage Therapist

Why have massage?

Medical research has shown that the benefits of massage include the following:

  • Pain Relief
  • Reduced Anxiety/Depression
  • Reduced Blood Pressure and Heart Rate

There is also an increase in the release of endorphins and seratonin, increased flow of lymph fluid and better sleep patterns.

Pain relief from muscular/skeletal injuries, tension headaches. Acupressure and or Trigger Point Therapy have helped to relieve back pain.

EEG patterns, after massage, have indicated enhanced performance and alertness in maths and problem solving, perhaps by reducing stress hormone levels.

Massage has been shown to reduce subclinical depression.

Massage is used in an effort to improve the quality of life, reduce the disease progression and improve symptoms in HIV and terminal Cancer patients.

Circulation is improved, and congestion in the tissues is relieved. Blood production is stimulated, as is the lymph flow, leading to a better elimination of cellular wastes.

After sports or strenuous exercise it helps to eliminate lactic acid build up and relaxes the muscle tone.

Deep massage can separate facial fibres and prevent the formation of adhesions, reducing inflammation and oedema in the joints and soft tissue.

Massage simulates a kinaesthetic awareness of the body injuries, increases circulation, and improves the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to all the body cells.

MOST OF ALL ... IT MAKES YOU FEEL GREAT!!
